It can be hard to get through the work day when there's less of a social atmosphere. That's why we recommend scheduling some time for a virtual happy hour with your colleagues! This is a great way to stay connected, unwind after a long day of work, and build stronger relationships with the people you work with. Here are some ideas on how to make the most out of your virtual happy hour:
- Organize bi-weekly or monthly Zoom calls with people on your team where you can dedicate time to steer the conversation away from work and get more personal
- Play fun drinking games like Two Truths and a Lie or Trivia. These games will allow you and your coworkers to get better acquainted and will lead to more productive relationships in the workplace.
- Coordinate which alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages you will be drinking! You can create "themes" for your virtual happy hour by suggesting that everyone drinks the same thing. For example
- Cocktail show and tell: Everyone crafts their favorite cocktail and describes how to make it and why it is their favorite. This is a good way to learn more about your coworkers and will give you access to new cocktail recipes!
- Wine Club: A certain type/brand of wine is agreed upon beforehand, and everyone tries it together on the Zoom call. This is a great way to learn about something new (for some of us) and teach (for the others!)
